In order to ease the journey to Vauquois, we propose following ways to approach:

Arrival from northern direction - Montfaucon d'Argonne

From the southern exit of Montfaucon d'Argonne, you take the D19 towards Cheppy in southwestern direction. After you passed Cheppy, you cross the Forges-Bach. An American monument is on the left side of the street, about 250 m later you turn to one’s left to the D38. After about 2250 m you turn to the right in direction to Vauquois.

In the small village, you pass the church to the right and you will arrive to the visitor-parking by following the way.

Arrival from Verdun

From Verdun, you follow the D38 in direction northwest to Thierville-sur-Meuse. Before Charny-sur-Meuse you turn to the left and remain now a longer time on the D 38. Cross the villages Marre, Chattancourt, Esnes-en-Argonne and Avocourt. Approximately 4,5 km behind Avocourt you turn to the left on the D212. You get through a forest way exactly to Vauquois. Turn right after the church and you get to the height of Vauquois.

Arrival from western direction, Varennes-en-Argonne

Use the D38 from Varennes-en-Argonne in direction Avocourt and follow it. After you passed the crossing, where it goes in direction of Cheppy to the left, the way description is similar with the description on the top (Arrival from northern direction).
